The block diagram of a H2/CO imit (HyCO unit) is shown in Fig. 5.15. 

For the synthesis gas generation unit, the aspects described in the previous section apply. In contrast to the hydrogen plant, however, carbon dioxide is removed by means of chemical scmbbing process, then it is compressed and, completely part of it, fed to the steam reformer. In case additional CO2 is available, a further reduction of the H2/CO ratio in the raw synthesis gas is possible by means of CO2 import. This process does not allow the exclusive generation of CO, but H2
