Examples of Analytically Relevant Oxidases and Their Redox Centers (Cofactors) 

These polymers possess the conjugated 7r-electron systems, and characteristically they are easily reduced and oxidized reversibly. Charge transfer species (dopants) affect this oxidation or reduction process, with the result that insulating polymers are converted into those with near metallic conductivity in many cases. Since the synthesis of the first conducting polymer, i.e., poly(acetylene), many conducting polymers have been electrochemically or chemically produced.
