Staining with PTA. This procedure leads to a substantial amount of information on SCs (kinetochores, LEs, attachment plaques) and on recombination nodules. Some weaknesses of PTA staining are the variability in the degree of staining, low contrast in the EM, and the requirement for fresh spreads. [Pg.243]
