Recent Advances in the Ugi Multicomponent Reactions

The aim of this chapter is to highlight the literature of the last 8 years (2006-2014) concerning the use of the Ugi strategy for the preparation of different complex molecules.

During the last decades, excellent revisions concerning the reactivity and use of the Ugi reaction [2], isocyanides [3-8], MCRs [9-12], and the Ugi-Smiles coupling [13] have been reported. All of them contain information related to the topic of this chapter, and they should be consulted for obtaining detailed information about the literature that appeared in the last years.
