Recalcitrant wounds

They are available as sheets, particles, pastes, or gels and the dry materials absorb exudate to form a gel. One manufacturer has incorporated 10% alginate in the dressing formulation. These dressings are recommended for use on any recalcitrant wound free from necrotic tissue and showing no signs of infection.
