Reactions of Nuclear Halogenoquinoxalines

An interesting mass spectral study of 17 mono- and dflialogenoquinoxahnes, some bearing methyl groups, has been reported the X-ray crystallographic structure of hexachloroquinoxaline has been measured.  

Most of the chemical reactions of halogenoquinoxalines consist of facile nucleophilic replacements, thus making such substrates ideal intermediates for the preparation of aU kinds of other quinoxaline derivatives. Their conversion into alkyl- or arylquinoxalines has been discussed in Section 2.2.1.2 other reactions are outlined in the following subsections.
