Reactions of deuterons with light nuclei

The reactions of deuterons with deuterons are B. dn) He and H. dp) H . Because of the low barrier due to the large radius of the deuteron these processes have high yields for low energies . Early experiments showed that the angular distribution of protons in the U. dp) reaction was anisotropic in the centre-of-

The mirror reaction l [dy) He has not been found Sawyer and Burk-HARDT quote a cross section of less than 5 X10 cm for a deuteron energy of 160 keV, which is not far from resonance in the H ( ) reaction. The H [dp) H reaction has not been observed .
