Reaction of Coordination Compounds with Dienes

Diene complexes are most commonly obtained by reactions of coordination compounds with conjugated dienes. However, they can also be synthesized by reactions involving nucleophilic attack on metal dienyl complexes. [Pg.485]

Metal carbonyls are commonly utilized in ligand substitution reactions  [Pg.485]

hydrogen transfer processes take place leading to the rearrangement of the diene [equation (8.10)]. Also, other metal carbonyls react with dienes  [Pg.487]

Butadiene complexes are also formed by reduction reactions of transitions metal compounds by AljRe, BH., etc. [Pg.487]

In reaction (8.17), rhodium(III) is reduced by alcohol. The compound [IrCl(CH2=CMeCMe=0112)2] is formed in an analogous way. [Pg.487]
