Reaction dynamics overlapping resonance

The other possibility is that there exist isolated resonant states in the reactant side, that is, some of the resonant states do not overlap in the energy scale with other resonant states. This would imply that the relaxation processes within the well are not statistical enough to guarantee the application of Eq. (3.1). Thus, the separation of timescales does not hold so that the dynamical processes within the well matters in the reaction.
