Raybin reaction

Like the other synthetic disaccharides, it gives the Raybin reaction, which indicates that the local structure about the glycosidic linkage in the glucosyl-sorboside is the same as that of sucrose. [Pg.56]

A particularly important color reaction is the Raybin diazouracil test for sucrose (see under Sucrose). An alkaline solution of diazouracil turns green in the presence of sucrose. The only known interfering substances are raffinose, gentianose, and stachyose. [Pg.608]
