Measuring Rates of Reactions That Last Microseconds 

To measure the rate of a chemical reaction, one might simply mix reactants A and B and use a timer to measure their disappearance and the formation of product C until there is no further change. Although it takes a few moments to add A to B and thoroughly mix them, if the reaaion is sufficiently slow, the mixing time is negligible and does not affect the results. But what is the consequence of mixing and B in one second if the reaction is complete in five seconds How does one mix reactants and then time the reaction if it is complete in milliseconds (or microseconds or less)
