Rare Earth Doped Barium Titanate Glass 

BaTi20s (hereafter referred to as BTO), which was first reported relatively recently [34], is of interest from both technological and fundamental perspectives. 

Alongside the possibility of producing a pure ferroelectric glass is the controlled nucleation of crystals for ferroelectric glass-ceramics [4, 18]. This has been shown [33] to improve the ferroelectric properties of BaTiOs microcrystals in a sol-gel derived borosilicate, relative to pure BaTiOs ceramic.
