To date, different types of rare earth complexes with 2,2 -bipyridine ligands have been reported. For instance. Wood and coworkers reported the synthesis and crystal structure of a series of rare earth complexes RE(9)2(N03)3 [15]. Crystal structures of dimeric Eu(III)-chelated complexes based on/7-methoxybenzoate [16a], 6 - or/7-aminobenzoate [16b], and/7-methylbenzoate [16c] with 9 are well known.
