Radioactive Compounds by TLC

Solvents suitable for elution of chromatographically separated radioactive compounds can be ascertained by chromatographing the substances in solvents of various polarities those which carry a substance with the solvent front, are appropriate for elution. The adsorbent is scraped off the plate and digested with several portions of the solvent. The clear solution is decanted and filtered through a small sintered glass funnel. Losses generally ensue from the use of filter paper.
