Rackett method

In the first type of method, the density at saturation pressure is calculated, then this density is corrected for pressure. The COSTALD and Rackett methods belong to this category. Correction for pressure is done using Thompson s method. These methods are applicable only if the reduced temperature is less than 0.98. [Pg.114]

An afternate method with approximately the same accuracy as the Rackett method is the COSTALD metnod of Hanldnson and Thomson. The critical temperature, a characteristic volume near the critical volume, and an acentric factor optimized for vapor pressure prediction by the Soave equation of state are required input parameters. The method is detailed in the Technical Data Book ... [Pg.404]

The value obtained by the modified Rackett method is 0.9 percent below the DIPPR 801 recommended value. Note, however, that with Zra = 0.202, Eq. (2-70) gives Pc = 5.28 kmoPm as opposed to the DIPPR 801 recommended value of 5.79 kmol/m. If the power is regressed from the Kratzke density, one obtains qi = 0.452 and p = 15.68 kmoEnr (4 percent below the experimental value), while still retaining p = 5.79 kmol/m. ... [Pg.532]

A modification of the Rackett method by Spencer and Danner [Spencer, C. F., and R. R Danner,/. Chem. Eng. Data, 17 (1972) 236] replaces Z with an adjustable parameter Zra... [Pg.503]

At this level it is useful to mention the Rackett method itself that is one of the most accurate to calculate liquid densities. The following a equation recommended in Reid(1987) ... [Pg.167]

The recommended method for estimation of saturated liquid density for pure organic compounds is the Rackett prediction method. [Pg.532]

Recommended Method Spencer-Danner-Li mixing rules with Rackett equation. [Pg.533]

A useful and accurate method for the calculation of liquid molar volumes at saturation is the Rackett equation. In its modified form, it gives the molar volume of saturated liquid as... [Pg.74]

Marrucho and Ely developed a saturation boundary based method to evaluate the shape factors that is easily transferable between reference fluids. The method is based on the Frost-Kalkwarf vapour-pressure equation and the Rackett equation " for saturated-liquid densities. Using these relations and eqs 6.30 one finds for the 6 shape factor... [Pg.145]
