Quantisation error

The maximum quantisation error expressed as a percentage of the span is ... [Pg.540]

Both Q and SF mass spectrometers are scanning (sequential) analyzers and multiisotope analysis can be achieved at the expense of the measurement sensitivity and precision. The sequential measurement of m/z at different points within a time-dependent concentration proble of a transient signal can result in peak distortions and quantisation errors commonly referred to as spectral skew. The alternative is TOF-MS which features the ability to produce a complete atomic mass spectrum in less than 50 xs and thus allows very brief transient signals to be recorded with high bdelity. This is especially useful in the on-line isotope ratio determination. However, a 10-fold loss in sensitivity of a TOF-ICP-MS instrument in comparison with the latest Q instruments often creates an obstacle for the wider application of TOF-ICP-MS as a detector in the CE of metallobiomolecules in biological samples. [Pg.516]

Reflection coefficients are a popular choice of LP representation because they are easily found, they are robust to quantisation error and can in fact be used directly without having to... [Pg.375]

Although there is a hnear relationship between absorbance and concentration, beyond certain absorbance values an increase in concentration does not result in a proportional measured increase in the absorbance value, as shown in Fig. 8.5. The violation officer s law may be attributed to reduced solubihty of the dye at high concentrations, dye aggregation causing light scattering in the flow cell, or instrumental errors due to stray light and quantisation errors. [Pg.213]

One can improve the error to higher orders in h by successively adding Independent corrections to (6), finally arriving at projection operators l l43 that are Weyl quantisations of (see again (Emmrich and Weinstein, 1996))... [Pg.99]

Up to a possible error of order h°° this operator is again a Weyl quantisation of some symbol... [Pg.100]
