The pyrido[3,4- pyridazine 40 was also reacted with l-methyl-2-methylthio-2-pyrroline, at room temperature within 30 min, to give the two isomeric pyrroline-annulated isoquinolines 49 and 50, in an overall yield of 65% with ratio 1 2.3, via elimination of nitrogen and methanethiol from the initially formed cycloadducts <1994H(38)1845>. 

By contrast, l-methyl-2-methylthio-2-pyrroline (77) with DMAD in dioxane gave the azepine 78 as major product, along with some of its Diels-Alder adducts 79 (also obtained from 78 and DMAD), 71,75, and 80 no 72 could be detected.108... 

Utilization of l-methyl-2-methylthio-2-pyrroline as a dienophile to react with 200 produced the l-methyl-6-(/3-D-ribofuranosyl)pyrrolidino[3,2-c] pyridine 201 (95AP175) (Scheme 59).
