Pulegone molybdenum complex catalyst

While Mo(CO)6 is only a modest hydrosilylation catalyst oxadiene complexes of molybdenum and tungsten, M(CO)2(oxadiene)2 (oxadiene = pulegone, pinocarvone and ( )-5-methyl-3-hexen-2-one), exhibit good catalytic activity for the hydrosilylation of a, yS-unsaturated ketones and aldehydes with HsSiPh. Although the 1,4/1,2-selectivity for the reactions of a, yS-unsaturated ketones is low to modest at best with one exception for the reaction of pinocarvone catalyzed by Mo(CO)2(pinocarvone)2 which undergoes 1,4-addition with 92% selectivity, the reactions of a, /J-unsaturated aldehydes proceed via 1,2-addition exclusively... [Pg.1738]
