Psilocaulon absimile

The following species, known to be alkaloid-positive from earlier work, were also found to be positive in the survey reported here Psilocaulon absimile (2/2), Scelelium jouberlii, S. tortuosum. [Pg.9]

Piperidine has been obtained from pepper, from Psilocaulon absimile N.E.Br (Aizoacese) in which it occurs to the extent of 4-5 per cent., and in Petrosimonia monandra. N-Methylpiperidine has been recorded in Girgensohnia spp. [Pg.425]

Occurs in form of Piperine in black pepper Piper nigrum, P. longum, P. officinarum). Also present in free state in plants, e.g. Psilocaulon absimile, Petrosimonia monandra. Glycine max. Useful base in org. synth. Used for detn. of Co, Ni, Pt, Pd, Rh, Ir. Liq. with characteristic odour. Misc. H2O, sol. org. solvs. df 0.862. Mp -9°. Bp 106°, Bp2o 17.7°. n 1.4534. Forms a hydrate, Mp -14°. [Pg.805]
