Properties of Colloidal Disorder in Small Band Gap Azides

Properties of Colloidal Disorder in Small Band Gap Azides [Pg.323]

In this section the properties of colloidal disorder in Pb(N3)2 and TIN3 are reviewed. Similar measurements for AgN3 have not been made. [Pg.323]

Examination of UV-irradiated Pb(N3)2 and TIN3 under a low-power microscope revealed that the disorder is not uniformly distributed through samples upon uniform irradiation [7,8,59]. Disorder may be significantly greater in [Pg.325]

Section E). Samples mounted in this vacuum system did not show significant changes of optical extinction on warming to room temperature after irradiation at about 80°K, and large pressure increases ( 10 torr) were also not observed. However, significant decreases of the optical extinction were found when the pressure was allowed to increase by purposely admitting air. [Pg.327]

The optical extinction can be partially bleached under some conditions [59,104]. If UV irradiation is followed by exposure for an appropriate length [Pg.328]
