Processing methods colloidal spray deposition

However, when used in MEA production the conventional LbL process described above is rather time consuming. In order to speed up the manufacturing process of multilayers, sequential spraying of oppositely charged solutions of polyelectrolyte or colloids has been reported [111]. It has been shown that a deposition sequence of a few seconds can be reached without affecting the quality of the films. For example, a film composed of 20 bilayers may be fabricated in less than 5 min as compared to about 2.5 h by the conventional LbL method. [Pg.292]
