Radial load-membrane stress is compressive for inward radial load and tensile for outward load 

Note Only ratios of C1/C2 between 0.25 and 4 may be computed by this procedure. 

Ratio fillet weld radius to thickness of shell, attachment, or 

C2 = one-half longitudinal length of a rectangular attachment, in. h = thickness of attachment, in. d = outside diameter of circular attachment, in.
