Principal Elements of Chirality Encountered in Organometallic and Coordination Chemistry

5 Principal Elements of Chirality Encountered in Organometallic and Coordination Chemistry [Pg.20]

Note that in the case of ferrocene derivatives, 1,2- or 1,3-substitution leads to a chiral structure, whereas in the case of the arenes, only 1,2- and 1,3-substitution leads to chiral compounds.  [Pg.21]

This type of chiral element is often found in coordination chemistry, in particular for all the hexacoordinated octahedral complexes of type M(L )2A2, in which at least two hgands in a cis position are bis(chelate). [Pg.21]

Hexacoordinated Ru(II) complexes of C2 symmetry (left) and D3 symmetry (right). [Pg.22]
