Preparation of Triple-Decker Cyclopentadienyl Complexes

The cationic complexes of the type [Nicp] X were isolated and investigated. 

An attempt at synthesis of an analogous palladium-nickel compound was unsuccessful the reaction of Pdcp with Nicp2 leads to Ni2Cp [equation (9.59)]. 

Both 1,2,5-thiadiborole and 2,3-dihydro-l,3-diborole derivatives (9.61) are utilized for the preparation of multidecker sandwich complexes[equations (9.62)-(9.64)].
