Preparation of Assemblies and Testing in Natural Atmospheres

There are several possibilities for preparing and testing assemblies prototype assemblies can be produced and exposed to namral atmosphere, or test pieces consisting of threaded bars made in steel, copper, etc. can be provided, around which aluminium wire, weighed before and after the test, is coiled (wire-on-bolt test) [16]. 

The interpretation of the results can be tricky, because if the test lasts too long, galvanic corrosion is slowed down due to the accumulation of corrosion products between the spirals of the wire. The duration of these trials should be rather short and not exceed a few months. Taking into account this short duration, the season in which the test is started does indeed matter.
