Preparation and Properties of Sulphides

A study has been made ° of a number of methods for the preparation of halide sulphides and selenides of W and Mo in several oxidation states. The method of most general application is the reaction of Sb2S3 or Sb2Se3 with the appropriate halide. Sulphides and selenides of the type In3 jGa ,X3Z (X = S or Se Z = P or As X = 1 or 2.) have been prepared and structure types determined by X-ray diffraction.
