8 PREDICTING FIBER ORIENTATION - THE FOLGAR-TUCKER MODEL 

The state of particle orientation at a point can be fully described by an orientation distribution function, x, y). The distribution is defined such that the probability of a particle, located at x and y at time t, being oriented between angles j i and 4 2, is given by
