Preparation of Potassium Trioxalatochromate(III). Dissolve 3 g of potassium oxalate and 7 g of oxalic acid in 100 ml of water. Add... [Pg.225]

Seventy-five grams of potassium trioxalatochromate (III) 3-hydrate (No. 70) are heated with 240g of 10% (by... [Pg.227]

Preparation of Potassium Trioxalatochromate(III). Dissolve 3 g of potassium oxalate and 7 g of oxalic acid in 100 ml of water. Add 2.5 g of potassium dichromate to the solution in small portions with strong agitation. When the reaction terminates, evaporate the solution until almost dry and let it stand for crystallization. Filter off the precipitated crystals and examine them in transmitted and reflected light. Write the eqnation of the reaction. [Pg.225]

Some of the oxalato-complexes of chromium(III) are also of interest. Potassium trioxalatochromate(III), K3 Cr(C204)3 SHgO, is obtained by adding potassium oxalate to the solution obtained by reducing KgCrgO with oxalic acid ... [Pg.472]

Addition of aqueous barium chloride to the potassium salt yields the bluish insoluble barium trioxalatochromate (III). Many other heavy metal ions and coordination cations give insoluble chromioxalates which are interesting from the standpoint of inorganic isomerism. [Pg.100]
