Porsal cement

Belite-aluminate cement or aluminate-belite cement, also called porsal cement, contains -C2S (belite) and the calcium aluminate phases CA and its main constituents. It... [Pg.246]

The phase composition of the porsal clinker may vary in the following range P-C, 55-75% CA, 15-30% C 2A, 0-10% glass phase, 0-10% and—in the presence of SO3—also C4A3S, 0-15%. To obtain porsal cement, the clinker, which is easy to grind, is ground to cement fineness, without adding calcium sulfate to it, to act as set retarder. [Pg.246]

Porsal cement exhibits an acceptable strength development, comparable to that of Portland cement, and a high resistance against sulfate attack. It may be considered for apphcations similar to those of ordinary Portland cement. [Pg.246]

Laxmi (1992) produced colored porsal cements. A bine product was obtained by adding to a low-iron raw meal 1.6 wt% CO3O4. A pink cement was produced by adding Fc203 (6.8 wt%) andZrO (3.3 wt%). [Pg.246]
