Polymer Exemption under the TSCA

The definition of polymer under the TSCA polymer exemption is the same as that used in the EU, but there are two other criteria required to qualify under the PMN exemption. These are that the polymer meets one of three exemption criteria, and that it not be rendered ineligible due to one of five exclusions. [Pg.81]

The five exclusions that render a substance ineligible are  [Pg.81]

only monomers and other reactants present on the TSCA Inventory may be used, [Pg.81]

substances having a cationic or potentially cationic group (including all amines) unless they meet certain exceptions, [Pg.81]

polymers containing reactive functional groups at significant concentrations, [Pg.82]
