Polymer-bound selenides

Alternatively polymer-bound sodium selenide 6 served as the starting point for an acylat-ing protocol (Scheme 3) [12]. Transformation into selenol ester 9 afforded an active polymer-bound intermediate which was cleaved in the presence of an alkinylcopper species to generate a,/ -alkinyl ketones 10 while the copper selenide can be reacylated using acyl chlorides. 

Kurth and co-workers prepared libraries of polyisoxazolines 39,40 by solid-phase combinatorial synthesis utilizing polymer-bound olefin 34, nitro-selenoethers 13c and nitroalkanes 13d,e (Scheme 11) [103]. An iterative application of nitrile oxide 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition followed by selenide oxida-tion/elimination steps was employed to afford polymer boimd tri-isoxazolines which could be liberated from the resin via trans-esterification to afford 39,40. 

HfSkaff and Rmrick bound RAFT agent functionality to cadmium selenide nanoparticles by a ligand exchange process and grew various narrow MWD polymers (PS, PMA, PBA, PS-c o-MA, PS-co-AA, PS-co-IP, S-block-PMA, PS-ii/oc -PBA) from these particles.
