Polyacetal extrusion

Among the more than several uses for polyethers in ordn application is as a binder for extrusion-cast expls (Ref 3), and in a caseless proplht charge where the charge is used as an ammo element (Ref 5). Also, some development work on the use of Polyacetal resins (polyformaldehyde) as a fuel has been done by Singhal T ien y[Pg.816]

There are a variety of different process plant designs used by polyacetal producers [1, 6]. Polyacetal resins are typically compound-extruded with property enhancers (additives) added during extrusion. The extrudate is water-quenched and pelletized. A state-of-the-art process can in-line extrude and injection-mold, using robotics and automation. Otherwise, the pelletized polyacetal is stored. [Pg.83]

All GRTP can be extruded. Processing parameters will vary with resin system, percent glass filler, extrusion equipment, and part design. The suggested processing parameters for polyacetal are presented in Table 4-7. [Pg.288]
