Poly-tetrafluoro-ethene

Most of the pressure crystallisation research has been done on polyethylene. Pressures of 3 kbar or higher are required to obtain crystallite thicknesses of 10-7 m. Some other polymers have a much stronger tendency towards extended chain formation. Poly(chloro trifluoro) ethylene shows this effect at about 1 kbar poly(tetrafluoro)ethene already at about 0.3 kbar. [Pg.727]

Due to the high corrosivity of moist bromine, materials such as glass, tantalum, ceramics and poly(tetrafluoro-ethene) have to be utilized in the plants. [Pg.177]

The RDF (Fig. 1) is a disc electrode that is surrounded by a coplanar insulating mantle (typically made of poly(tetrafluoro-ethene), PTFE). This is placed into a solution and rotated at a controlled rotation speed, W (Hz), which induces stirring in the solution [3]. [Pg.135]

Poly(fluoroalkenes) have some interesting properties that explain their commercial importance (1) large range of application temperature, (2) high resistance to solvent and ehemieal attaek, (3) good mechanical and electrochemical properties, (4) long lifetime, and (5) high resistance to flammability. The most important fluoroalkenes are tetrafluoro-ethylene, hexafluoropropene, 1,1-difluoroethene (vinylidene fluoride), chlorotrifluoro-ethene, and 1-fluoroethene (vinyl fluoride).
