Poly aromatics Wittig reaction

Polymers having vinylene groups between aromatic or heteroaromatic rings require different synthetic methods (Fig. 9). A classic synthetic method leading to the formation of a carbon-carbon double bond is the Wittig reaction. This reaction has been used for the preparation of poly(/7-phenylenevinylene) (Fig. 9a).
