A policy tells ns what to do, while a procedure tells us how to do it. Many organizational policies can be written aronnd laws, regulations, and standards. [Pg.35]

OSHA provides the laws and legal definitions of how occupational safety should be addressed in an organization. While standards published by organizations such as the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) are guides for how you could address a hazard, ANSI standards look a lot like regulations. They re detailed, technical instructions for addressing hazards. [Pg.35]
