Polar NSO compounds

All of the samples were analysed for their hydrocarbon content and composition, by chromatography of the extracted bitumens. The proportions of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons and polar NSO compounds were tabulated. Table VI indicates that some rocks provide tenfold more soluble bitumen than others (c.f. K2 and CalO) and that some of these bitumens were aliphatic rich (e.g. Cal5) while others were aromatic rich (e.g. 0C2).
