Plug flow reactor segregation intensity

In plug flow reactors (PFRs) under steady state, the segregation intensity will decay with the distance from the reactor inlet, respectively, with the residence time, T. 

This equation predicts the intensity of segregation to decay with time in the batch reactor. It is also applicable to a steady-state plug flow system, where t is the residence time.
