Pleiocarpamine-type alkaloids

There has only been one reported instance of an uleine-type alkaloid from a Malaysian plant. Undulifoline (136), was obtained from the new Malayan Alstonia species, Alstonia undulifolia Kochummen and Wong, in addition to tetrahydrocantleyine, cantleyine, akuammi-cine, pleiocarpamine, echitamidine, 20-epi-I9 -echitamidine, echitamine and nor-echitamine [109]. [Pg.348]

The knowledge of the key fragmentation routes of eburnamine and some related alkaloids confirmed or elucidated the structures of the alkaloids 11-methoxy-vincamine,100 vincaminine,102 and vinci-nine,102 of the same skeletal type as eburnamine. Alkaloids of the mavacurine-pleiocarpamine group (212)103 are characterized by a key fragment corresponding to the loss of the ester group and... [Pg.349]

Pawelka and Stockigt (5S5) identified eight different indole alkaloids from cell suspension cultures of O. elliptica. The pattern of the alkaloids found was quite different from the above-mentioned results reported by Kuoadio and co-workers (779). The alkaloids identified were tetrahydroal-stonine, cathenamine, pleiocarpamine and two other methoxy-substituted heteroyohimbine alkaloids Corynanthe/heteroyohimbine type), norfluo-rocurarine Strychnos type), and apparicine and epchrosine Aspi-dosperma type). The last mentioned alkaloid was a new compound (729) not known from intact plants. [Pg.151]
