Platinum complexes germyl

Ge—metal bonds can be built in analogy as described for Ge—C bonds by the reaction of organolithium compounds with metal halides. With trans-dichlorobis(triethylphosphine)platinum(II), new germyl transition metal complexes were synthesized (equation 36)41. 

The complex rra j -[Pt(H)I(PEt3)2] reacts with silylamines, silylphosphines, and analogous germyl derivatives to give four-co-ordinate silyl or germyl derivatives of platinum(ii). However, the mechanism is not one of simple substitution, but rather involves oxidative addition to give a six-co-ordinate platinum(iv) species and subsequent reductive elimination. ...
