Piptadenia macrocarpa

Piptadenia excelsa (Grisebach) Lillo—168 Piptadenia leptostachya Benrham-168 Piptadenia macrocarpa Benth—165,168 Piptadenia niopo (Humboldt) Spruce-165 Piptadenia paniculata Bentham i68 Piptadenia paraguayensis (Bentham) Lind-march—168... [Pg.548]

The heartwoods of the American trees, Betula alleghaniensis and B. lenta (Betulaceae), are reported to contain sitosterol yS-D-glucoside (78) (98). Similarly, from the heartwood of Melia birmanica (Meliaceae) this glucoside was isolated (0.016% of shavings) and very well characterized (88). There is also a report of its presence in heartwood of the legume Piptadenia macrocarpa (57). [Pg.835]

Piptadenia macrocarpa Benth, has been more fully investigated, and some additional constituents have been isolated (11). The seeds and seed pods ofP. excelsa (Gris.) Lillo have been shown to contain alkaloids, of which three have been identified, but, in contrast to a previous report, the bark contained no alkaloids. Piptadenia rigida Benth. and P. viridi-flora (Kunth.) Benth. were also reported to be completely devoid of alkaloids. The bark of P. paraguayensis (Benth.) Lindm. gave a faint positive reaction for alkaloids, but none was isolated and identified 11). [Pg.495]

The seeds of Piptadenia peregrina and P. macrocarpa also contain AjA-dimethyltryptamine oxide (75). Since A,A-dimethyltryptamine is readily oxidized on exposure to air, the oxide of this base may be an artifact. [Pg.10]

An indole alkaloid obtained from the seeds and leaves of Piptadenia peregrina and P. macrocarpa (Mimosaceae). It has also been isolated from species of Amanita (Agaricaceae) and from the skin glands of toads (Bufo spp.). [Pg.407]
