Piperazin-2-ones reviews

The objective of the present review is to discuss all aspects of the chemistry of piperazine-2,5-diones and their synthesis, physical chracter-istics, chemical reactivity and applications. Earlier reviews had focused on certain specific topics thus the review by Sammes (75FOR51) is mainly oriented toward natural products containing the piperazine-2,5-dione ring, whereas the one by Anteunis (78BSB627) deals exhaustively with conformational aspects of the ring, as well as those of the side chains. 

One-dimensional coordination polymers based on Ag(I) complexes with aromatic nitrogen-donor ligands have recently been reviewed in [84]. The main focus was on coordination polymers 29 based on Ag(I) cations with Lipyridyl ligands (X = linear, angular or a flexible linker) with various different geometries. The process of coordination polymerization is totally reversible because of the high lability of the Ag-donor atom bond. For example, in the case of Ag(I) complexes with A,A -bis(2-pyridylmethyl)piperazine a onedimensional polymer 30 with a 1 1 composition was obtained.
