Physical Interpretations of the Critical AT

It is always desirable to have physical interpretations of unusual phenomena. The existence of a critical temperature difference for nucleate boiling has challenged many thinkers. The easiest explanation occurs 

This explanation does not permit predictions of the critical AT for various liquids. It does not tell what the quantitative effects of changing the pressure, the type of hot solid, the geometry of the system, etc., 

Two theoretical explanations follow. Although they are not perfect, they are encouraging attempts to go beyond the superficial, easy explanation.
