Physical anthropologists

This much used system of body typing was devised by Dr. W. H. Sheldon, an American physical anthropologist, in 1940. He recognized three major types of physiques, which he described as follows ... 

BODY BUILDS (Somatotypes). Dr. Sheldon, an American physical anthropologist, and his co-workers have described the temperaments they observed to be associated with each of three types of physique ectomorph, mesomorph, and endomorph. These types are shown in Fig. 0-5. 

Everyone seems to have their own perspectives on the DMT beings. Anthropologist Michael Harner met bird-headed people who explained that they were the true gods of our reality. Various Amazonian tribes like the Secoya drink ayahuasca in a deliberate attempt to communicate with heavenly beings. Rick Strassman suggested that the DMT entities actually dwell in the parallel realities posited by modern theories of physics. Terence McKenna called the beings that he frequently encountered selftransforming machine elves. Like Strassman, McKenna speculated that DMT opens a portal to a parallel reality inhabited by these alien creatures. 

Anthropologists distinguish three general classes of social control mechanisms. The first and most obvious is direct force. A group can physically attack members who are behaving deviantly and injure or kill them. In less extreme form, property or privileges can be taken away. Control rests on interfering with the satisfaction of the lowest level of needs in Maslow s hierarchy, namely survival needs and needs for the avoidance of pain and discomfort. 

Recent studies from Jamaica, however, indicate that where marihuana (ganja) is an intrinsic part of everyday life, work output at menial jobs does not suffer. In rural Jamaica, anthropologists report that "rather than hindering, [ganja] permits its users to face, start and carry through the most difficult and distasteful manual labor. workers are motivated to carry out difficult tasks with no decrease in heavy physical exertion, and then-perception of increased output is a significant factor in bolstering their motivation to work."...
