The biosynthesis of sesquiterpenes containing isonitrile and isothiocyanate groups was also investigated by incorporation of cyanide and potassium thiocyanate labeled with carbon 14 in the sponge Acanthdla cavernosa, which is consumed by the nudibranch Phyllidiella =Phyllidia) pustulosa.
