2 Photoeliminations from Organohalogen Compounds. A review has been published of the photobehaviour of alkyl, aryl, benzylic and homobenzylic halides in solution and of alkyl halides in the gas phase.  

An experimental and theoretical study of the 355-nm photodissociation of CH2CI2 and CH2Br2 has shown that both molecules follow similar ionization patterns, with H , CH2 , X , CX and CH2X (X = Cl, Br) as the major ions.
