Photo-Fenton oxidation of acetic acid

In the absence of UV irradiation, the efficiency of Fenton oxidation of acetic acid, chosen as model pollutant, on perovskites-based catalysts was very low with a maximum TOC removal of 8% after 4h of reaction time [93]. But the photo-Fenton oxidation of acetic acid carried out on different Fe-, Mn-, Co-, Ni-, Cu-based perovskites supported on cordierite monolith led to high TOCs. The addition of Pt to these perovskites enhanced the initial rate of acetic acid removal. However, after 5h no differences were observed between the TOC reduction values on the perovskites and Pt/perovskites ( 18%). [Pg.490]
