Dibromotriphenyl phosphorane

Triphenylphosphine dibromide and dichloride, (CeHjlaPX . Mol. 3vt. dibromide, 422.11 dichloride, 333.19. Eastman supplies the dibromide as Dibromotriphenyl-phosphorane, 9155. [Pg.1357]

A solution of 92 g (0.58 mol) of bromine (Note 3) in 60 mL of dichloromethane is added dropwise over 1 hr while the reaction mixture is vigorous stirred. Instantaneous decoloration of bromine and formation of a precipitate of dibromotriphenyl-phosphorane (Ph3PBr2> is observed. After the addition, the reaction mixture is stirred for an additional 30 min while being cooled in the ice bath. [Pg.213]
