Yaren et al. described the synthesis of carbocyclic exo-amino nucleoside phosphoramidites (38) and the incorporation of them into oligomers. Their base-pairing properties were investigated and the results showed such analogues engage in specific interactions with natural bases in DNA duplexes. In addition they can form self-pairs that match or exceed the stability of Watson-Crick base-pairs. Therefore, these nucleosides may have applications in biotechnology. [Pg.126]
