Phosphole-1,2,3-triazole

As part of their interest in phospholes, Matano and coworkers have synthesized a family of hybrid hi-, tri-, and polydentate phosphole-1,2,3-triazole ligands [91]. Reaction of the protected 2-ethynylphosphole (66) with a range of aryl azides under standard CuAAC conditions followed by deoxygenation with trichlorosilane provided the bidentate phosphole-1,2,3-triazole ligands (68a-c) in excellent yields (Scheme 9). These bidentate ligands were then complexed to Pd(ll) or Pt(ll). When 68a was reacted with Pd(cod)Q2, the expected bidentate chelate complex forms.
