Phosphines hydridophosphines

Alkyl, aryl and acyl nitrosyl phosphines and hydridophosphine complexes of Ru11 are covered in Sections 45.5.4.6.iii and 45.10 respectively. 

S tanny lphosphincs can be prepared by treating an organotin halide with a metallo-phosphine, or with a hydridophosphine in the presence of a tertiary amine, or by acidoly-sis of a stannylamine with a phosphine. Some examples of these reactions are given in equations 16-70,67 16-71,68 and 16-72.69 Stannylphosphines containing a PH group, like the corresponding amines, disproportionate unless they are stabilised by steric hindrance. 

Hydridophosphine complexes. Proton abstraction from [RuH2(PPh3)4] using trityl hexafluorophosphate in dichloromethane has yielded the new five-co-ordinate cation [RuH(PPh3)4]PF5. ° Since this cation reacts with smaller phosphines or nitriles to give six-co-ordinate cations [RuHLj] and [RuH-(RCN)2(PPh3)3], respectively, the failure to obtain [RuH(PPh3)5]" is...
